MISS TARIFFS CONTESTANT APPLICATION


CRITERIA


Contestants must prepare a Presentation look based on a country (fictional or real) that Trump has lobbied tariffs against during his presidency.


Please be mindful of your choices. Any displays of racism will be grounds for disqualification.


  • JUDGES' DECISIONS ARE FINAL

  • POINTS ARE DEDUCTED (DURING FINAL TABULATION) IF CONTESTANT LEAVES THE STAGE OR DOES NOT ABIDE BY THE PERFORMANCE CRITERIA GIVEN TO THEM


As a contestant you agree to be judged and critiqued in front of an audience. Camp Pageants demands poise, projection, personality and above all else, entertainment skills. As a contestant you should be self-confident, have good eye contact with the judges and audience, and have a personality that gets the judge’s attention. Remember, confidence,

personality, stage presence, dress, hair, make-up, and overall performance should all be judged and looked for in the winner. It is also important to consider how well you as a contestant keep to the pageant theme of Miss. Tariff.


Here is a breakdown of scores in the following categories:


  • Presentation: 20 points

    • Contestants should prepare a short description of who/what their presentation is. This will be read during their presentation. Contestants will provide music for this category, and it should be related to the outfit.


  • Talent: 30 points

    • Contestants have a 5-minute limit on their talent. If they go over the limit, 10 points will be deducted off their overall score during the final tabulation. Talent should be original, comedic, creative, and really wow the audience. Acts involving fire or animals are prohibited and will result in disqualification.


  • Evening Wear: 20 points

    • The contestants’ individual Evening Wear. Contestants should prepare a short description of their evening wear.


  • Question & Answer: 10 points

    • Questions are asked by the emcees. Contestants should be judged on their response.


  • 60 Second Spokesperson: 20 points

    • Contestants choose an unusual item out of a bag, they have a moment to think about what they are going to say, then they have 60 seconds to sell the item to the judges and audience. If they go over the 60 second time limit, 10 points will be deducted off their overall score during the final tabulation.


You will be given a sheet to fill out your description of Presentation and Evening Wear at the pageant.
